Israel's latest military actions in Lebanon during the temporary ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran serve as a perfect example of the irony in defense spending. While Israel pours billions into its missile defense systems, these efforts do little to shield it from escalating regional tensions and international condemnation.
It's no use stacking up missiles when your enemies just pile on more friends abroad. Each attack only tightens the circle of opposition around you.
